Last Updated: 06-Feb-2009

The narrowing is caused by muscle constriction, inflammation of the lining of the airways and excess mucus production. Common symptoms are coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath and difficulty in breathing.

Hear how these adults manage their asthma, and the affects it has had on their lives.

Personal stories are a valuable source of information and reassurance. They present first-hand accounts of the day to day challenges others have faced, and give insights into the coping strategies they have used.
