Asthma in Adults
Last Updated: Aug 2011
Asthma is an inflammatory condition of the airways which causes them to narrow in response to a wide range of trigger factors. The narrowing is caused by muscle constriction, inflammation of the lining of the airways and excess mucus production. Common symptoms are coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath and difficulty in breathing.
These 'Speaking from Experience' video clips offer first-hand accounts from people living with the affects of asthma. They talk about the impact it has had on their lives and the ways they manage the condition. They were produced in partnership with The Asthma Foundation of Victoria.
